Celebrating Teaching Assistants and everything they do

CACHE - 23/11/2022

Teaching Assistants deliver a wealth of value for children, young people and schools, yet often don’t receive the recognition their role deserves. That’s why NCFE, the power behind CACHE Alumni, is on a mission to champion everything they do and the difference they make to so many. Alongside NCFE, we’re also focused on supporting Teaching Assistants directly and helping them to enrich their skills by improving access to specialised development and training opportunities.

Teaching Assistants make up over a quarter of the workforce in schools, including up to 35% of the primary workforce. As a specialist role, they support some of the most vulnerable children and young people.

The role of Teaching Assistants

We often hear misconceptions about Teaching Assistants. NCFE’s campaign sets out to prove that many of those perceptions are just not true. Watch the campaign videos and discover more about the great work they do every single day.

Sign up to the upcoming roundtable event: Are school funding pressures putting the government’s SEND Review proposals at risk?

NCFE is bringing together a range of different perspectives to debate if school funding pressures are putting the government’s SEND review proposals at risk. The panel of experts will include a parent of a child with SEND and a School Leader, as well as specialists from within local government, higher education, and NCFE.

Whether you work on education or not, this insightful session will shine a light on current challenges within our schools when it comes to supporting some of the most vulnerable children. Register your free place to see it live or to watch back on demand.

Feeling inspired?

We need your help to make a difference in education and ensure that Teaching Assistants are recognised for the hard work that they do every day.

Whether you’re working as a Teaching Assistant or just interested to learn more, get involved with the campaign by completing a short survey. It won’t take long and the results will provide an insight into how Teaching Assistants are feeling at the moment, as well as how they’re viewed by parents, carers, and the wider public. Take the survey now.
